We went though some do’s and don’ts for hair extensions in the last article So what’s the best alternative than staying indoors and missing all the fun? Hair masks ! In this article we’ll go through some very easy DIY hair masks that you can whip out in a couple of minutes in the comforts of your home. These masks are super easy to make and are filled with natural ingredients that will is guaranteed to bring back that fabulous look back to you and your hair extensions! 01 - Banana Honey Hair Mask
Ingredients:
1 banana ¼ cup honey ½ cup plain yogurt Mash the banana into a smooth mixture before adding other ingredients. This prevents the forming of any chunks that could get stuck in your hair extensions . Then add in the honey and the yogurt and mix well until the mixture gets a smooth and thick Banana is jam packed with vitamins, antioxidants, potassium and the added moisture helps to revitalize dried hair. Allow the mixture to soak in hair for around half an hour and rinse well. Make sure you stay around half an inch below the location that the extension has been connected to.
02 - Coconut Oil and Honey Hair Mask
Ingredients:
½ cup melted coconut oil ½ cup honey ¼ cup apple cider vinegar Apple cider vinegar and coconut oil alone are beauty vitals and they are even better when combined with honey. Together these have antibacterial and antioxidant properties that promote your hair and your extension to be hydrated (but not to the point that they are weighing down) Microwave the coconut oil to melt it and then mix the rest of the ingredients to avoid separation. Leave on hair for around 30 minutes and carefully rinse them off 03 - Avocado, Olive oil and Honey Hair Mask
Ingredients:
1 ripe avocado, pitted and scooped out 2 tablespoons olive oil 2 tablespoons honey 2-3 drops lavender essential oil (optional) Avocado has many nurturing fats and oils in addition to vitamin A, B, E and D. Also Olive oil is extremely hydrating and helps to protect your extensions from damage. Especially if you heat your hair frequently. Honey has a load of hair strengthening vitamins in addition to to being very hydrating. Lavender can help to keep dandruff at bay and keeps your hair smelling great too. Whip the avocado to a smooth puree. Add in the other ingredients and stir until the mixture is smooth. Apply the mask on the hair and your extensions (be wary of not applying this from the root of the extension. Keep around a ½ inch gap and apply. Let it sit for 30 to 45 minutes and rinse it off carefully 04 - Egg and Olive Oil Hair Mask
Ingredients:
2 tablespoons olive oil 1 tablespoon white vinegar 1 egg Olive oil is full of moisture and nourishment to help you revitalize dry hair. Loaded with Vitamin E and other essential fats the olive oil hydrates the brittle ends of your closures and extensions. Whisk all the ingredients together and let it sit on your hair and hair extensions for around 20 minutes and rinse well. You might want to double the amount of ingredients if you have longer hair
