Top Methods for Installing Hair Extensions Fusion or Bonded Hair Extensions- Individual keratin-tipped strands are attached to your natural hair strands using heat. This method can be used on just about any hair texture.  The installation can take up to three hours but it also lasts the longest (about three to four months) Tape-in Hair Extensions- Wefts of hair are bonded to small sections of your own natural hair using a special type of double-sided tape. This method can be used on just about any hair texture. It only takes an hour or so to install but should be replaced every six to eight weeks. Fortunately you don't have to purchase new hair each time they just need to be reinstalled. Weave or Sew-in Hair Extensions- Your natural hair is sectioned into braided rows all over your head and wefts of hair are woven onto the braids using thread. This method works best with curly or kinky hair. Weave extensions can be applied in an hour or two and will last about three months.
